Trees

I worked on this mix media painting a few days. I was inspired by joni Mitchell's song Big Yellow
Taxi. The leaves are real leaf prints on recycled paper. Have a great weekend!

Tiny Quilts

I Finished my little quilts, I think I got the imperfections just right. Gee's Bend quilts are a little crooked, puckered and very artistic. If you ever get the chance to see their exhibit, do it.

Gee's Bend Quilts

I don't know if you are familiar with the women of Gee's Bend quilters collective. They live in Alabama and have been quilting for much of the twentieth century. They are self-taught quilters and their craft has been passed down from generation to generation.
this is my paper cloth quilts inspired by the Gee's Bend women. I have just finished the first step there will be more later.

Affirmation Bracelets

Today was a very creative day. I don't know about you, but don't you just have days that click!
Well that was my day. I designed and made these paper-cloth bracelets. I'm calling them affirmation bracelets. They are something you can look at during the day and remind yourself of that affirmation. Breathe!

Mannequin Container

My friend Beth gave me this great old locker basket, so I thought I would show you what I am doing with it. I thought It would be a good place to contain my art mannequins. I think they have other ideas.

Finished Paper-Cloth Project

This was a fun project, I can't wait to use this process for other projects. I already have several ideas. It uses every thing I love to do, sewing, painting, paper, gluing and drawing.

Paper, Cloth and Glue

I am starting a new project today, it is called paper-cloth. It will probably take me a few days to finish. It takes time to dry and then I have to decide what to do with the cloth after it is ready to work with. I have had lots of fun with it so far. I got the idea from a new book, Stitch Alchemy by Kelli Perkins. I'm sure I will be using this method for many projects to come.
